At We Do Bamboo, we’re committed to reshaping the future of sustainable construction and agriculture in Kenya through innovative bamboo solutions. We produce premium-quality bamboo building materials designed specifically to meet local needs, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen Kenya’s economy. Our mission is to support sustainable development while empowering local communities and promoting eco-friendly construction practices across East Africa
OUR VISION
We envision bamboo becoming a cornerstone of eco-friendly construction and reforestation efforts across Kenya, Africa, and globally. By providing sustainable bamboo alternatives to conventional building materials such as timber, concrete, and steel, we strive to reduce environmental degradation and actively contribute to a greener future.
At We Do Bamboo, we’re more than a company — we’re leading a movement toward sustainable growth, healthier ecosystems, and resilient communities.
Our approach
-
Forest-to-Market Integration: We operate a vertically integrated "forest-to-market" model, sourcing high-quality bamboo directly from Kenyan farmers and transforming it into premium products, including bamboo planks, flooring components, decking, and beams. This fully integrated process guarantees quality control, sustainability, and traceability at every stage.
-
Empowering Local Communities: By closely collaborating with local Kenyan farmers and global bamboo experts, we generate meaningful economic opportunities, improve livelihoods, and encourage sustainable agriculture practices within the communities we serve.
-
Environmental Stewardship: Integrating bamboo into modern industries and agriculture actively reduces deforestation in Kenya, combats climate change, and promotes biodiversity. Our commitment is to support environmental conservation through sustainable bamboo solutions tailored specifically to East Africa.

Why bamboo?
Bamboo is among the fastest-growing plants on Earth—some species grow up to 35 inches (90 cm) in a single day. With remarkable tensile strength exceeding steel and compression resistance comparable to concrete, bamboo is ideal for construction in Kenya’s diverse climates. Moreover, bamboo significantly combats climate change by absorbing more carbon dioxide and releasing 35% more oxygen than most trees, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional building materials.
