ABOUT
WE DO BAMBOO
At We Do Bamboo, we are dedicated to transforming the future of sustainable building and agriculture in Kenya and beyond through the innovative use of bamboo. Our mission is to produce high-quality, eco-friendly bamboo construction materials that promote environmental sustainability and support local economies.
OUR VISION
We envision bamboo becoming a cornerstone of eco-friendly construction and reforestation efforts globally. By replacing less sustainable materials like timber, concrete, and steel, we aim to reduce environmental degradation and foster a greener future.
At We Do Bamboo, we’re not just a company—we’re a movement for greener, more sustainable growth.
Our approach
-
Vertically Integrated "Forest-to-Market" Model: We source bamboo from local farmers and process it into various products, including planks, flooring components, and beams. This approach ensures quality and sustainability at every step.
-
Community Empowerment: Collaborating closely with local farmers and international experts, we create economic opportunities and promote sustainable practices within the communities we serve.
-
Environmental Commitment: By integrating bamboo into modern industry and agriculture, we combat deforestation, mitigate climate change, and contribute to environmental conservation.
Why bamboo?
Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants, with some species growing up to 35 inches in a single day. It offers a tensile strength stronger than steel and withstands compression better than concrete. Additionally, bamboo absorbs more carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen compared to most trees, making it an eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials.
